Joy of Sake Honolulu, Hawaii
by Lala Linzy on 30. Aug, 2010 in Adventures, Food and Drink, Sake
Joy of Sake!
I love love love sake so every year I look forward to the Joy of Sake Event. This year it was held on August 19th at the Honolulu Academy of Arts.
It was really fun, lots of good food, and the best part over 300 Sake to try (I think I only tried around 50 =P)!! The sake that they offer are premium sake that are entered into the U.S National Sake Appraisal which go through a blind tasting of 10 judges from Japan and the U.S.
This was the opening ceremony.. with the sake barrel and all the Toji (Sake Brew Masters).
Huge barrel! look at all the sake =)
Passing out the Sake!

Description of what Meetoworld means taken from Doc’s blog post.
“Meeto World is a Language school currently teaching Japanese, Korean and soon Chinese online! check out our weekly Ustream shows for Japanese and Sake lessons for now! Why Meeto World? Well Meeto is a play on the katakana pronunciation of “meet” or “meet up”. Meeto also is a play on “Mi” for “3? and “Tomodachi” for “Friends” as in Japanese we often truncate and concatenate words. Lastly the old school way of pronouncing the number “3? and “10? would been “Mee Tou” and “Ten Sai”. (Tensai also means “Genius” just to add that special touch).”
